Army Public School, Happy Valley was established in 2011 after the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) granted sanction to rename and run the school up to Class VIII. By the end of its first session, the school had a strength of 304 students. Following further sanction from AWES in December 2010 and subsequent CBSE affiliation, the school was upgraded to include Class IX and Class X during the academic years 2012 and 2013 respectively.
At present, approximately 85% of the students are wards of Army personnel, while 15% are civilian children. The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, and follows the latest CBSE assessment system in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, covering classes from Balvatika I to Class X.
