The school was established in 2011 after sanction accorded by AWES to rename school as Army Public School, Happy Valley up to class VIII with a strength of 304 at the end of the session.

APS Happy Valley was upgraded to class IX and class X in 2012 - 2013 respectively after AWES sanction in Dec 2010 and CBSE affiliation for the same.

The school has progressively completed 13 years with 11 batches of children appearing for class X board exam.

The school has 85% wards of army personnel and 15% of civilian children as on date.

The school is affiliated with CBSE, New Delhi.

The school is following the new CBSE assessment system (nep 2020) for Balvatika I to class X.
